Rechargeable hearing aids

Rechargeable aids are now the most common choice at Hearwick, and it is easy to see why. You take them out at night, drop them into the charging case, and in the morning they are ready for a full day, including a few hours of streaming phone calls or television.

How they work

These are receiver-in-canal aids. A small case sits behind the ear, and a fine wire runs down to a tiny speaker in the ear canal. Because the speaker is in the ear, the case can be very small, and the sound is clear without the “blocked up” feeling of older aids.

For people who hate batteries

If you have ever dropped a size 10 battery on a patterned carpet, you will understand the appeal. There is nothing to open, peel or fit. The case shows the charge level with three small lights, and a full charge takes about three hours.

Looking after them

The sealed battery lasts around five years of daily use. When it starts to fade, we replace it as part of your aftercare while your tech level covers it, and at a fixed fee after that. A spare charging lead lives in the box, and the case works from any USB plug.
